TRANSFORMING EDUCATION

On November 1, 2021, Clariden broke ground on its new Upper School STEAM building. In partnership with WRA Architects and Steele & Freeman, we were are able to make this project a reality. The addition of the new state-of-the-art STEAM building, which was completed in the Fall of 2022, allows us to provide our students with unique and exceptional learning experiences.

Construction Update: July 2022

GRAND OPENING

The Clariden School celebrated the grand opening of its new Upper School STEAM building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 30, 2022.

In attendance were students, staff, and their families; WRA Architects and Steele & Freeman, who Clariden partnered with in making this new facility a reality; Mayor John Huffman of Southlake; and Clariden’s generous donors.

1,100 sq ft Makerspace

Equipped with a 4 ft. CNC Router and Laser Engraver, Grizzly milling machine and lathe, Prusa 3D printers, Silhouette Cameo 4 desktop cutting machine, SawStop table saw, a full line of Makita power tools, and pneumatic lines with six retractable hose reels for student workstations

Safety

The entire STEAM building is an ICC-500-rated storm shelter enclosure, sized to house the entire Clariden population in the event of severe weather, significantly adding to student safety

For student collboration with oversized glass whiteboards and moveable furniture

ADA-compliant Science Lab

With a dedicated prep and chemical storage room, gas and power connections at all student stations, fume hood with specialty exhaust system for chemical experiments, UV sterilization cabinet, state-of-the-art crocodile tank, and a comprehensive osteology collection

Security

All doors to and within the building have a keycard authorization system

Kitchenette

And student lounge area with a refrigerator, ice machine, and coffee maker

4 spacious classrooms

With 75” touch screen television monitors amplified audio, wireless presentation capabilities, and added web cameras, enabling our students to virtually speak and hear from experts around the world

Emergency

The building is equiped with AtlasIED IPX system for general paging or emergency messaging
