COVID-19 Response 03/03/20

Dear Clariden Community:
  • The Clariden team continues to monitor the coronavirus through sources such as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and Tarrant County Health Department. While health officials are currently reporting that the risk in our area of Texas is low, I want to assure you that we are closely monitoring the situation as it evolves and unfolds.
  • In addition to closely monitoring the situation, we are following health officials recommendations to protect against coronavirus in the same way we would prevent the spread of other respiratory illnesses like the flu. The Clariden teachers and staff are encouraging simple but effective practices such as frequent hand-washing, covering your cough and sneeze with your elbow, and the cleaning and disinfecting of all work surfaces. Our cleaning team is taking extra precautions as well, assuring that all surfaces are well disinfected and cleaned each evening.
  • We are aware of media coverage and recent communication regarding the possibility of school closures. While we do not anticipate closures of schools, we are working on a plan for alternative instruction in the event that we are required to close school. If this should become a requirement, a communication will go out to families regarding alternative instruction.
  • For our high school students scheduled to travel to Europe on March 17. EF Tours is closely monitoring the situation using both national and international resources/services. We are awaiting communication from EF Tours. We will communicate once information/recommendations/potential options are shared with us.
It is important that health and safety precautions continue to be taken, as we are still in cold and flu season. We ask you to please let us know if your child becomes ill. Please follow best practices as recommended by health officials and Clariden’s school illness policy. We will continue to monitor and communicate as things continue to unfold and new information becomes available.
All my best – Sallie
