H1N1 (Swine) Flu Preparedness Information
One of the most important ways we can help reduce potential H1N1 infections in our school is to make sure that when anyone has flu like symptoms, they stay at home. Again, symptoms of influenza A (H1N1) can include mild fever (99-102), cough, upset stomach, vomiting, and diarrhea. Students or staff experiencing two or more of these symptoms should seek a doctor’s care immediately AND report their illness to our front office administrator, Corey Sanford.
Most importantly, students or staff experiencing these symptoms must not come into school for at least a full 24 hours after there is no longer a fever or signs of a fever (without the use of fever-reducing medicine.) The school will ask you to pick up your child from school if this procedure has not been followed. Keeping sick students at home means they keep their viruses to themselves rather than sharing them with others. We want to thank you for understanding and supporting our efforts to help reduce flu infections in our school.
