Athletics
The Clariden School Athletics program participates in both TAPPS (9-12 grades) and CSAF (4-8 grades). For students in the lower school, we offer co-ed soccer to the Upper Elementary (grades 4-6) in the fall and basketball for both boys and girls in the winter. Our soccer team won two consecutive 2nd place standings for the 2007 and 2008 years.
Upper school students are able to participate in basketball and cross country at this time. The junior varsity basketball team is made up of 7-8th graders and the varsity consists of 9-12th. During the fall, the Upper School competes in cross country and earned two consecutive State Championships in 2007 and 2008!
Clariden is always open to participating in additional sports, given student interest.
It is Clariden’s philosophy that ‘Everyone Plays’. Students are encouraged to participate in athletics regardless of their level of experience. In addition to learning fundamentals and increasing their skill levels, the students experience commitment to the team, good sportsmanship, school spirit and the value of playing hard.
During the school day Physical Education is offered to all students, from Casa (3 years +) to 12th grade. We cover basketball, floor hockey, dodge ball, parachute activities, softball, kickball, aerobic exercises, trap ball, badminton, and volleyball.
