Big Scholarships for Our Seniors – Congrats!

Sallie-Wells-headLetter from Head of School

College is definitely an exciting time. Applying to college is a tedious and exhausting process. It takes a lot of self-discipline to submit all the required documentation and there is an excessive amount of essay writing that must be completed for each university applied to. I’ve had the pleasure of working with our seniors in guiding them through this process. I’ve spoken to admissions officers, edited essays, written letters of recommendation, submitted transcripts, and assured that our seniors are staying on track so that deadlines are met. There are countless colleges, which means endless possibilities.  Clariden‘s award winning curriculum and incredible learning environment has definitely well prepared our students and made them quite desirable. I’m thrilled to share that the first round of college acceptances for our graduating seniors has been most impressive.

Our seniors thus far have been accepted into the following universities:

Colorado State University
Miami University – Ohio
Williamette University – Oregon
Elon University – North Carolina
University of Colorado – Denver
University of Denver
University of Colorado – Boulder

Even more exciting is that our students have been offered (cumulatively) just over $229,000. thus far in scholarship money. Our seniors continue to wait to hear from universities that had later notification dates, in addition to waiting to hear more on scholarships. I think our seniors would share that the waiting is really hard.

Often times parents measure the success of a program by the colleges that students are accepted into. I know the college admissions officers I’ve spoken with have been most impressed by our program and our students. It’s so wonderful that our seniors have so many options, with more potentially still coming. I can’t wait to see what college each of our seniors choose! Those colleges will have gained an incredible student, who knows how to use their voice, problem solve, create, collaborate, and contribute positively to the environment they engage in.

Way to go Cian, Caroline & Hannah! I could not be more happy for you! Well done!
